Butterflies

These striking butterflies are a sampling of a generous donation from the Pearce family.

For Dr James Pearce, insect collecting was a passion that began in boyhood and continued throughout his life.

He amassed an exquisite butterfly collection that was immaculately kept, and includes some of the largest and rarest butterflies in the world.

The Natural History Museum of Utah is honored to be the recipient of his life's avocation.
