Project Archaeology: Investigating Shelter

This eight-week online course allows teachers to use authentic archaeological data to practice the basics of scientific inquiry:  observation, inference, evidence and classification.

Educators will learn first hand how to help students apply archaeological concepts as they investigate a shelter using primary data sources such as maps, artifact illustrations, historic photographs and oral histories. 

Teaching Toolbox Workshop: In the Classroom

Review toolbox options, learn how to use them in your classroom, and integrate them with other curriculum content in this 2 hour workshop.

Teaching Toolbox Workshop

During this dynamic, hands-on workshop you will engage with unique specimens, participate in authentic learning and increase your understanding of the nature of science.  You will also learn strategies for transfering these new understandings into your classroom and how to incorporate the scientific process into other areas of the curriculum through our Teaching Toolbox program.
