Self Guided Field Trips

NHMU offers self-guided field trips based on national and state standards, and are designed for grades K-12. 

Please submit your request at least two weeks prior to the time of your visit. Submitting a request does not guarantee a reservation. You will receive a confirmation by email when your reservation is finalized. Request a Self-Guided Field trip Reservation Online Now  

School Group Pricing

With advance reservations, Utah Public and Charter Schools qualify for a sponsored Self-guided Visit.

 Sponsored School Group Pricing:

  • Teachers - FREE
  • Chaperones - FREE
  • Students - FREE

Private schools and schools from outside the state of Utah qualify for the discounted Unsponsored School Group Pricing with advance reservations.

Unsponsored School Group Pricing:

  • Teachers - $7.00
  • Chaperones - $7.00
  • Students - $4.00      

Youth Clubs, after-school programs, child-care, and pre-school programs can make submit their reservation request form from the Field Trip Request page.

School Group Frequently Asked Questions:

Is the Museum free for school groups?  Through generous support from the Utah State Office of Education and generous community donors, the Museum is able to offer free admission to 40,000 Utah Public and Charter School students for each school year plus their required adult chaperones.  This free admission is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

How far in advance do I need to request a reservation? You need to submit your request at least two weeks prior to your visit in order for you to receive your confirmation and properly prepare your students and chaperones to visit the Museum.
