Youth Teaching Youth (YTY) Mentor
Position Summary: Youth Teaching Youth (YTY) Mentors will assist staff and high school student participants in engaging program middle school students in weekly science training and activities. Mentors will help high school participants manage small groups, help facilitate the middle school students’ development of science process and teaching skills, and model enthusiasm for learning.

Supervisor: Youth Development Programs Coordinator, Linda Aaron Gillis
Skills and Abilities:
- Enjoys working with adolescents
- Enthusiastic about science and learning new things
- Strong oral communication skills
- Comfortable in flexible learning environment where learners are able to ask their own questions and follow their own interests
Time Commitment: One shift per week through mid-May 2014, except public holidays and school vacations
Age Requirement: 18 years minimum
Background checks are required for all volunteers.
