Due to COVID-19 Community Outreach is currently focused on digital interactions with our community.
We look forward to the day we can return to our state-wide in-person outreach activities and partnerships.
In the meantime check out some of our online initiatives:
- Virtual Museum Tour - Explore our First People's Gallery with Community Outreach Manager Sarah Allen
- Traveling Treasures Cirriculum - Check out our supplimentry education packets about our past and present traveling exhibit
If you're out in nature during this summer in the Salt Lake area, try out one of our Backyard Bingo Sheets:
Become a Neighborhood Naturalist!
We will be exploring new topics all summer long, introducing you to local naturalists and scientists, learning more about our nearby nature, sharing fun activities you can do outside, and even connecting you with research happening right here at NHMU. We’ll launch a new naturalist topic right here every 2 weeks starting in June through August.
Keep your family engaged while both learning and having fun with NHMU's Summer@Home online programs. With this FREE program our Community Outreach and Citizen Science teams are still working hard and are encouraging communities to get outdoors this summer with the Neighbohood Naturalist program.
We look forward to adventuring with you this summer!
And when we do return look for us traveling statewide March through November as we provide free education and engagement programming and work to sustain each Utahan’s understanding of science and natural history.
We do this through:
- Community Festivals
- After School Programs
- Offsite Summer Camps
- STEM Events
