Cultural Stewardship for Your Classroom!

Learn how you and your students can protect Utah's cultural history with NHMU and the Utah State Historic Preservation Office.

Friday, July 17th

Presented in partnership with the Utah State Historic Preservation Office, this teacher workshop will focus on Utah’s rich cultural history and how you can help protect it by integrating engaging curriculum-aligned tools and activities into your classroom.

Dive deeper into the science of archaeology by exploring artifacts and finding out what we can learn about people from the belongings and histories they leave behind. We will discuss the importance of protecting cultural sites, the ways you and your students can help, and how the past still connects to living people today.

This workshop is free and open to all public and charter school educators. Content will primarily align with 4th-5th grade Social Studies standards, but educators of all backgrounds and contexts are welcome and encouraged to join. Participants will earn 4 relicensure hours. Lunch will be provided. Register today!
