Craft Workshop: Botanical Embroidery

Wednesday, April 3, 2019 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
The Natural History Museum of Utah | Rio Tinto Center

An embroidery of green plants.
About this workshop:

Learn the basics of embroidery with local fiber artist Danielle Susi! In this NHMU Craft Workshop, presented by Craft Lake City, Susi will walk you through the step-by-step process for creating an embroidered hoop inspired by the natural world. Materials will be provided and all skill levels are welcome. You will leave with an embroidered work of art to hang at home, as well as the skills and knowledge to create future fiber projects on your own.

About the artist:

Danielle Susi is an accomplished Utah-based writer, educator and fiber artist. She received her Master of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has shown her fiber work at the Page Gallery and Sullivan Galleries in Chicago, as well as Bountiful Davis Art Center, Eccles Community Art Center, and the Weber County Library System in Utah. In 2019, Susi’s work will be featured in solo exhibitions at Finch Lane Gallery and God Hates Robots in Salt Lake City. Susi has taught fiber workshops all over the state, including at the University of Utah, Utah Museum of Contemporary Art and Weber State University. See her work online
