This NHMU Craft Workshop, presented by Craft Lake City, will be taught by local printmaker Anna Hansen of The Hex Press. Hansen will discuss the history of collagraphy and guide participants through the steps of making their own collagraph prints. Attendees will learn how to create different textures and patterns by adhering leaves, flowers, and other natural items to the surface of a block. Then, Hansen will assist participants in applying water-based ink and using a mobile press to create one-of-a-kind collagraph prints of their own design.

About the artist:

Anna Hansen is the talented artisan behind The Hex Press, a small but mighty mobile printmaking endeavor. Her team travels with a mobile press and linoleum blocks, printing on demand at public events to create clothing, tote bags, journals, limited edition prints and more. Hansen enjoys teaching the art of printmaking through workshops and classes for curious makers of all ages.

Presented by Craft Lake City and the Natural History Museum of Utah.
