The Horse: Horse Collage Artist Workshop

Saturday, September 27, 2014 - 10:00am to 2:00pm
The Natural History Museum of Utah

Join Assemblage Artist Lone’ Vilnius and create a horse collage using found objects. The art of collage has been practiced for thousands of years, dating back to the ancient Chinese, and rose in popularity in the 20th century when artists such as Picasso and Braque began to incorporate paper, cloth, and wood in their paintings and drawings. Learn about basic design as well as the working elements of collage, and leave with a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Lone’ Vilnius’s formal training began at the Copenhagen School of Art where she majored in Fashion Design. After moving to Utah in the early 80s, she earned a degree in Graphic Design. A connoisseur of the tossed-away, Lone’ uses  found objects as an inspiration to assemble, juxtapose, and give shape to one-of-a-kind objects and creatures that are whimsical, political, funny, or fleeting.
