Nature All Around Us Opening Celebration

Saturday, October 19, 2019 - 10:00am to 5:00pm
Natural History Museum of Utah | Rio Tinto Center

A raccoon.
Nature is thriving right under our noses in Utah’s cities and towns. Come meet the wild plants and animals that share our communities in Nature All Around Us, a special exhibition celebrating the Natural History Museum of Utah’s 50th anniversary.

On opening day of Nature All Around Us, the Museum will host a celebration to launch the new exhibit and highlight the many community partners throughout Utah that helped bring it to life.

  • Meet local scientists and experts and get up to date on current research
  • Enjoy short Nature Talks about local conservation projects and the plants and animals in your own backyard
  • Sample some plants from our “Don’t Weed It, Eat It!” Bar
  • Get up-close and personal with some snakes, amphibians and bugs
  • Make a bee hotel that you can hang in your own backyard
  • Get your face painted for free

Learn more about Nature All Around Us on our exhibit page in English and Spanish

The opening celebration is included with Museum admission, which is free for Museum Members and University of Utah faculty, staff, and students.
