Science Movie Night: BUCK

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 - 7:00pm
The City Library - 210 East 400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah

A master horseman, Buck Brannaman was the inspiration for “The Horse Whisperer.” This deeply personal film reveals his troubled childhood and his ability to transform horses, and people with his understanding, compassion and respect. A textured and visually stunning film, BUCK is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds.

After the film, we will speak with Dr. Dirk Vanderwall, an Associate Professor and Interim Head of the Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences and Interim Associate Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Utah State University. He joined Utah State University in 2012 where he is involved in teaching, research, and service activities in large animal reproduction.
