Scientist in the Spotlight: Environmental Impacts of Nanotechnology

Friday, June 21, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Friday, December 6, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Natural History Museum of Utah

A scientist in a lab coat smiles at the camera.
Join nanotechnologist Kyle Isaacson and explore the environmental impacts of nanotechnology. Herbicides play a big role in food production for the world. However, to keep feeding humans safely for generations while minimizing environmental impacts better herbicides must be developed. See how Kyle is using nanotechnology to modify herbicides in order to prevent them becoming airborne and spreading beyond their intended target.

Scientist in the Spotlight is held on the first and third Friday of each month from 2–4 p.m. The program allows Museum guests to meet real scientists and discuss their research. See link below for additional scientists in the series.

Included in Museum admission, free to members and University of Utah faculty, staff, and students with a current U ID.
