Join us and help save our precious foothills from encroaching noxious weeds. The Urban Habitat is a noxious weed eradication task force that ambitiously aims to protect an area along the foothills of Salt Lake City, and NHMU is a proud supporter.
This weed pull will be hosted by the Jordan River Commission and the Seven Canyons Trust and will take place on Thursday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. at Red Butte Canyon.
Become part of this great cause and you can meet like-minded eco-warriors, win great prizes, and help keep our foothills beautiful!
* Participation in events with Urban Habitat is strictly voluntary for improving plant habitat in the urban-wildland interface in the foothills of Salt Lake Valley. Participants understand the risks associated with the voluntary work as stated in the release form approved by the general counsel of the University of Utah and signed by the participant. For participation on the weed pulls we require gloves, closed-toed footwear, long pants, a University release form, and water. We also encourage participants to bring long-sleeved shirts, shade hats, sunscreen, and a snack. Meeting destination for the group will be determined prior to each event as notified through the groups distribution email list and social media. Changes to events will also be distributed using these methods, participants are encouraged to check these sources prior to attending. Reasons for changing the scheduled events may include but are not limited to weather, participant attendance, and urgency of noxious weed populations.
