Join John Lawson and learn the science behind the destructive windstorms that the Wasatch Front experiences. John will bring a weather balloon and other instrumentation used in the actual storms. Learn how to measure the atmospheric conditions including wind measurement devices, view maps and computer models that help us understand how and why the geography of the Wasatch creates this weather phenomena.
John Lawson is finishing his Masters project on Wasatch downslope windstorms at the University of Utah.
