Summer@Home Powered by NHMU is a set of super cool experiences designed by our awesome Museum educators and Summer Camp team. Created to meet the unique needs of Summer 2020, Summer@Home will
- Help kids have fun outside this summer, exploring nearby nature and discovering science at home.
- Make parents’ lives a little easier, keeping kids engaged and entertained while quarantine life continues this summer.
Some Summer@Home programs have a fee. Others are free. See below for information and check back soon as we finalize additional details. Four Day Adventures
Perfect for kids entering grades 2 - 5 this fall, Four Day Adventures help kids explore nature in their own neighborhoods and discover science at home! Your child will embark on a four-day adventure alongside NHMU scientists, educators, and other young explorers. Each themed experience includes engaging science experiments, art projects, games, and activities that will get them off the couch and out of the house! An "Adventure in a Box", mailed to your house, includes all the materials needed to make each Adventure a success — as well as some fun surprises.
Adventures start at $65 per week ($60 for Members) and include all necessary materials. The Adventure begins June 8!
NHMU’s Kids Club is designed for kids entering grades 2 - 5 this fall. Each club includes three weeks of fun activities that will get your kids playing outside and exploring the natural world. No screen time, computers, or printers necessary to participate. Kid’s Club members receive in the mail a printed Zine with activities and Kid’s Club button. They're also invited to complete challenges and win prizes. Four themes to choose from Nature Play, Art & Nature, Imaginator, and Little Backyard Naturalist.
Kids Club starts at $30 per child ($25 for Members) and includes all necessary materials. The first Kids Club begins June 15!
Grab & Go Science
No cost! Planning your own summer schedule of fun and learning? Download these ready-to-use science activities complete with detailed instructions. Grab & Go Science activities provide hours of engaging science fun with zero screen time!
Neighborhood Naturalists for Kids
No cost! Learn more about nature all around you and become a Neighborhood Naturalist with the Natural History Museum of Utah! Have fun while also contributing to NHMU current research. Get outside all summer long with scavenger hunts, backyard birding, science-based crafts, and creative cooking.
