Fourth and Fifth Grade In-Person Summer Camp Sessions
Join us for a week of amazing hands-on experiences that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Campers will participate in activities with circuits as they construct bridges, towers, and tiny towns. We’ll also make tie-dye and batik works of art, investigate slime, explore states of matter, and create chemical reactions. Of course, we’ll also find time to visit the Museum exhibits and collection areas.
Week 1 | June 7 – 10 (M-Th) | 8:30am – 4:30pm | $310 — Registration Closed
Cache Me Outside
This week will find campers exploring the nature around us. We’ll get outside to search for bugs, birds, and plants while also investigating clouds and digging into soil science. While we’re out and about, we’ll experience the adventure of geocaching; learning how to use the equipment, creating travel bugs, and searching for local caches. Along the way, we’ll discover how to utilize iNaturalist, an app that serves a global community for nature observation and identification.

Engineering & Creative Reuse
Monday and Tuesday will have campers with Museum staff exploring concepts in engineering and electricity through the design and creation of our very own electric-powered tiny town! Wednesday and Thursday will be spent outside on the Museum’s Terraces with staff from Clever Octopus, Utah's only creative reuse center, engineering and creating amazing art projects like pencil pouches, woven wall hangings, junk keychains and pins, hammered washer bracelets, and more—all supplied with recycled items. Drop off and pick up take place at NHMU.

Don't Try This @ Home!
Mornings will be spent unleashing our inner mad scientist as we experiment with dry ice, chemical reactions and a variety of slimes and quicksand. We'll also erupt mentos geysers, examine microbes, and identify unknown chemicals. Our afternoons will be spent solving mysteries! Campers will analyze fibers along with finger-, lip- and footprints, and inspect chromatography. Your parents will be so glad you didn’t do these investigations at home!
Week 4 | June 28 – July 1 (M-Th) | 8:30am – 4:30pm | $310 — Registration Closed

Rockets, Wings & Flying Things
Join us for a week of aeronautical study as we investigate everything that flies, soars, glides, orbits, or floats in the sky from planes, kites and rockets to birds, mammals and insects! Monday and Tuesday campers will be spent at the Museum, exploring the forces of flight with activities involving kites, planes, rockets, and more! Wednesday and Thursday are at Tracy Aviary exploring the world of birds from bone density, beaks, and feet to flight patterns and habitats. Drop off and pick up on Monday and Tuesday take place at NHMU. Wednesday and Thursday will be at Tracy Aviary.
