Beautiful Bills and Flat Feet : Using Waterfowl to Explore Structure and Function

Duck, it’s spring! Gear up for the changing seasons in school by highlighting our local waterfowl! Celebrate the diversity of structure and function in our own backyard this spring with the Natural History Museum of Utah and Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge at a special professional development workshop for Box Elder County teachers (and surrounding districts!).

Taught by zoology and ecology science specialists, this workshop will showcase local waterfowl as a tool for teaching structure and function with hands-on lessons. Learn from Bear River Refuge specialists about their educational programs and opportunities. Teachers will leave with new activities and background knowledge for their classrooms.

This workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 24th from 5-7pm at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge Nature Center, west of Brigham City. For attending, all teachers will receive two relicensure hours, Junior Duck Stamp totes, and a flash drive with content covered during the evening.
