Beginning in 2014, Dr. John Foster and colleagues from NHMU resurrected a 155-year-old expedition to southeastern Utah to dust off the mystery behind the oldest known sauropod dinosaur skeleton in North America.
John Foster is the director of the Museum of Moab and previously served as the curator of paleontology at the Museum of Western Colorado.
He has spent 25 field seasons working in the Morrison Formation throughout the Rocky Mountain region and has published more than 50 scientific papers on paleontology.
Foster is the author of Jurassic West: The Dinosaurs of the Morrison Formation and Their World (2007) and Cambrian Ocean World: Ancient Sea Life of North America (2014).
