Directions to NPS Parking Terrace

Driving to the Museum Employee Parking (NPS Upper Terrace)
NHMU’s Employee Parking is located 1/10 of a mile south of the building in the NPS Building upper parking terrace. Drive through Research Park and go up the hill towards the Museum.
Parking at the Rio Tinto Center
Proceed up Wakara Way, then turn right onto Colorow Rd.
Proceed straight down Colorow Road for 0.1 mile.
Turn Left onto Colorow Drive.
Proceed straight up Colorow Dr and follow as it turns left. Note: Don't turn left onto the lower parking terrace.
Continue on Colorow Dr. as it turns left again. Note: Don't turn left onto the middle parking terrace.

Park as far north on the parking terrace as possible. Parking is permitted anywhere on this terrace and the middle terrace.
After parking, walk to the northeast corner of the upper parking terrace and onto the trail.
Continue up the trail and hang left at the fork.
Continue on the trail. Hang right at the fork.
Proceed onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail toward the museum.
Continue straight down the Bonneville Shoreline Trail toward the main entrance.
Upon reaching the concrete junction, turn right toward the museum's main entrance.
Continue down into the museum's main entrance.
Parking at the Rio Tinto Center
The Museum has two levels of surface parking adjacent to the building. It is an uphill walk from the parking lot to the Museum's main entrance featuring footpaths, stairways, and ramps for visitors in strollers and wheelchairs. Along the footpaths are markers indicating major geological time periods covering 150 million years.
Drivers may drop passengers at the turnaround and then park vehicles. Please note: Children under eight should not be left at the turnaround without an adult chaperone.
In the event that overflow parking is needed, please follow signs or directions from attendants indicating the location of additional parking. Additional street parking is also available on Colorow Road, one block west of the Museum.
