About the Lecture
Explorations in Excellence

More people have walked on the moon than have been to the places Jill Heinerth has explored right here on earth. Instead of following maps, she has blazed a trail into the planet exploring lava tubes beneath the ocean floor, submerged caves inside icebergs, and the deepest recesses of the world’s oceans.
Heinerth’s dynamic multimedia presentation will inspire audiences to reach beyond their limitations, challenge the unknown, and overcome their fears. She shares remarkable experiences and lessons learned in the deadly arena of extreme underwater exploration and adventure filmmaking, applying her practical knowledge to share lessons on risk management, discovery learning, failure, and collaboration strategies.
Book Signing
Immediately following the lecture, there will be a book signing with Jill Heinerth. A limited number of the speaker’s books will be available for purchase at the venue.
Tickets for this event are sold through Kingsbury Hall's online box office.
About the Speaker

More people have walked on the moon than have been to some of the places that Jill Heinerth’s exploration has taken her right here on the earth. From the most dangerous dives deep inside underwater caves to searching for never-before-seen ecosystems inside Antarctic Icebergs, Jill’s curiosity and passion about our watery planet is the driving force in her life. She has swam further into deep caves than any woman in history and has smashed through a few glass ceilings along the way. Jill is a Fellow of the International Scuba Diver’s Hall of Fame and serves as the first Explorer-in-Residence for the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. She is the bestselling author of Into the Planet and the subject of a new documentary, Diving into the Darkness.
