Title of Talk: The Biology and Evolution of Cuckoo Bees

Talk Description: Subfamily Nomadinae is a group of bees known as Cuckoo bees, and they have a special way of living called brood parasitism, which is similar to how pigeons behave. In this presentation, we will explore their biology in general and take a closer look at the fascinating ways they have evolved over time.

Bio: Kayun Lim (She / Her) is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biology at Utah State University. She recently graduated from Seoul National University with a major in Entomology. Her master's thesis focused on the systematic review of the genus Nomada (Hymenoptera: Apidae) in Korea, with Phylogeny and Evolution of the subfamily Nomadinae. Kayun is currently working under the direction of Dr. Michael Branstetter, and her current interests are the taxonomy and phylogenomics of the genus Andrena.
