Madeline Buhman and Rebecca Senft

How do you survive in an environment that you didn't evolve in? Invasive species must face this challenge as they attempt to establish in new areas. PhD students Rebecca Senft and Madeline Buhman will discuss the science behind the mechanisms invasive species use to thrive in new unfamiliar places. They'll also share tips for how community members can help lessen the impact of invasive species in Utah.

Madeline (left) and Rebecca (right) are both PhD students at the University of Utah, working in the Aparecido Lab. Their research focuses on the impact of Russian olive trees and Russian thistle in Utah and other areas.
