Our Backyard

Touch, listen, smell, and crawl through Our Backyard, a special exhibition designed for our smallest museum visitors. This quiet, sensory friendly space simplifies science, sparks curiosity, and allows your little explorer the freedom to investigate the world around them. 

Splash or race boats down our water table; then get an up-close look at the insects and animals that live in Utah. In Our Backyard, young guests will discover the excitement of scientific exploration in a fun-filled museum experience. 

Our Backyard also offers parents the opportunity to take a little time for themselves, to sit back and relax while kids play in a museum space designed just for them. This exhibit is a safe, soothing environment, made for curious investigation and hands-on family fun.

Please Note: To accommodate our Summer Camp programming, Our Backyard will be closed to the public Monday-Thursday from June through August. Public access will still be available Friday through Sunday.
