Third Annual Utah Indigenous Fashion Week Celebrates "Clothed in Mother" at the Natural History Museum of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The 3rd Annual Utah Indigenous Fashion Week (UIFW) is proud to announce its upcoming events, celebrating the artistry and cultural heritage of Utah’s diverse Indigenous communities. This year’s theme, "Clothed in Mother," will honor the profound connection between culture, creativity, and the land. UIFW will take place at the Natural History Museum of Utah, Rio Tinto Center marking a new partnership with the Museum. The event has sold out every year for the past two years, and this is the third year running. UIFW will feature a public workshop and a stunning fashion show:

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2: Public Workshop - Indigenous Environmental Education, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Swaner Forum, 5th Floor UNHM

FRIDAY, APRIL 4: UIFW Fashion Show - Location: Natural History Museum of Utah, 301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108

This year’s fashion show will showcase the talent of 16 Indigenous designers from across the state, presenting a diverse range of styles from ready-to-wear to couture, modern to traditional designs. Guests can expect a vibrant display of creativity and cultural expression.

"This isn't just a fashion show; it's a powerful platform for cultural exchange and appreciation," said Jessica Wiarda. "UIFW is committed to empowering Indigenous designers and sharing their unique stories through fashion while empowering designers to lead the conversation in sustainable fashion."
