We offer Craft Workshops presented in partnership with Craft Lake City, offering an enjoyable, social evening at the Museum where your inner-artist will come to life.

The Natural History Museum of Utah - Where We Inspire & Create Life-Long Learners! 

Cub Scouts of any Rank will enjoy a wide variety of hands-on, authentic experiences with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math concepts that support their progress towards their Elective Adventures. Workshops are two hours in length, take place at NHMU, and are facilitated by trained Museum staff. Space is limited to maximize the experience. Adults are welcome to attend with their Scouts, for an additional fee. Lion and Tiger Cub Scouts are required to be supervised by an adult. 


Please note: 

  • Online registration closes 3 days prior to program, unless program reaches it maximum before that. On-site registration is not allowed.
  • You’ll receive an email with check-in location and further information 3-5 days prior to session.

Cancelation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration, email programs@nhmu.utah.edu with your child’s name and the confirmation/order number, no later than two weeks prior to the program start date/time. If we can fill your spot, you’ll receive a 90% refund. If we are unable to fill your spot, you’ll receive a 75% refund.

NHMU hosts GSU Badge Workshops that will help your Girl Scout fulfill badges and participatory patches. We also offer Sleepovers and Late Nights!! Registration for all of these programs is through the Girl Scouts of Utah Event Calendar website (search GSU calendar with program date and/or name).

Learn Together as a Family!

Come nurture your passion for the natural world and share it with a child.  At NHMU Family Workshops, adults and children discover, collaborate, and create together.  You’ll learn from experts as you build new skills and explore Museum resources. 

Who Can Participate?

NHMU’s Family Workshops are designed for children and their adult companion. Check listings for grade range for child participant. No unattended children; adults must be accompanied by a child. One adult is required for every 2 children. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
