Behind the Scenes Reimagined: Plagues and Pestilence

Behind the Scenes: Plagues & Pestilence

We’ve reimagined our annual Behind the Scenes event for a second year! We will be hosting in-person meetings with our scientists in the Museum's Learning Labs where they will be showing off objects from our collections and exploring this year's topic of Plagues and Pestilence. These highly personal opportunities will offer you a chance to chat with five experts in the fields of paleontology, anthropology, archaeology, and vertebrate zoology. You'll also be able to get up close with some rarely seen museum objects from the secure collections areas.

This annual event allows us to share some of the endless stories represented in objects that make up our collections. Those collections are at the heart of who we are as a research museum!

Follow the links below to learn more about our five scientists and the subjects they will present at these in-person meetings starting October 29. Each Behind the Scenes event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on their scheduled date.

You can also catch recorded conversations with each of this year's presentations on our Behind the Scenes: Plagues and Pestilence YouTube playlist.
