Salt Lake City’s Open Street event transforms downtown main street into a lively, pedestrian-friendly hub, fostering community connections and strengthening partnerships with local businesses and organizations.

In 2025, the event is looking beyond the concrete and glass of the downtown environment to something a little unexpected – nature. NHMU is partnering with Open Streets to explore the wild nature in and around SLC.

Salt Lake City Open Streets:

  • Where: SLC Open Streets is located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City between South Temple and 400 South along all of Main Street.
  • When: Every Friday & Saturday in June from 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM

  • Photograph Nature Downtown
    • Add your photos of wild urban nature to iNaturalist to help scientists learn more about local species diversity.

Where to find Nature?

You can find nature as far away as a national park or as close as the sidewalk.
