STEM Programs
STEM Lab
STEM Lab is a playful space where visitors can investigate together the connections between STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), the natural world, and human capacity to solve real-world problems. Enjoy 10-15 minutes hands-on activities exploring puzzling problems and designing imaginative solutions where failure is simply part of the creative learning process.
Program Information
- Open most Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00am-1:00pm during the school year (September-May).
- Anyone visiting the Museum while STEM Lab is open is welcome to drop in - no sign-up necessary.
- STEM Lab availability is subject to change depending on considerations such as staffing and scheduled field trips. To see current program offerings, please view the preview calendar at the bottom of this page.

Float Your Boat
Oct. 2024-May 2025
Use the principles of engineering and design to build a boat with limited materials. Find out if you're able to float your boat!
STEM in the Spotlight
The STEM in the Spotlight program provides field trip students and teachers with opportunities to talk to STEM experts and ask questions about their current ongoing research. This program exposes students to experts from a variety of STEM careers, letting them engage with STEM in practice in real-world situations.
